How to conditions Natural Hair

Today post is about deep conditioner’s products that I highly recommend for newbie’s who is just starting out on their your natural hair Journey and those of you who has sensitive scalp.

What are Protein Treatments?Well Still a newbie in the haircare routine you might be confused on what a protein treatment means,so here you go

Protein treatments are conditioning treatments that replace lost hair protein by adding protein to the cuticle layer of hair strands.

This type of treatment is beneficial to the our natural hair strand because it strengthen the hair, preventing natural hair from damaging follicles, strengthening the hair to prevent breakage and dryness,

follow it up with a moisturizing deep conditioner.this would ensure that your hair maintains its adequate protein-moisture balance.

For natural hair,it is recommended that you do a protein treatment once in 2 weeks and also note that applying too much protein treatment can cause your hair to loose its natural texture and make it more like transitional hair plus dull looking,

Below are pictures of products considered to be protein treatments for natural hair, these products are high recommend for natural hair sister who is just starting out,I did used these products in the past that is why I’m recommending them to you,

Use any of these after Shampooing Natural Hair

Divide your natural hair into 4 sections if your hair is medium length or long,After shampooing and don’t forget to remove excess water that may still be in your hair from shampooing, then you should use an old t-shirt to do that,

Apply your favorite deep conditioner on your natural hair as if you were applying hair gel and make sure each strands is well coated with the deep conditioner, try not to neglect your ends,I highly recommend you start from your ends and work your way down to your roots or you should just apply enough product to cover all of your hair which make total sense for you newbie’s

Note: Some natural sister may prefer to apply deep conditioner to soaking wet hair, personally I do both, well you should Do what works best for you.

If you don’t have a steamer no worries because you can just use a shower cap, actually that’s what I usually use to deep conditioning my natural hair, use the shower cap for at last 15-30 minutes then let the product work its deep conditioning magic in,and don’t forget to rinse deep conditioner out well to avoid dandruff and itchy scalp, and voila Softer looking healthy natural hair,

Note: Make sure you read the application instructions.Try Not to skip this part.this stage is especially useful for those with low porosity natural hair like me,

Rinse with cold water but not ice cold water,Usually it helps to close the hair cuticle,

If you decide to use DIY Deep Conditioner Treatment,i will advice that you wash off with a co-wash cleanser after using the DIY deep Conditioner treatment is done, mainly to avoid leftovers product or funny odor out of your natural hair.

Some of your knows how much I love using DIY products, sometimes I will use a co-wash cleanser after using a DIY product that has a strong scents,
